Generated without specifying an artist in the prompt.

After experimenting with NAI 4.5 using heavily constrained prompts, I wanted to explore what happens when you give the AI more creative freedom. Instead of detailed character specifications, I used minimal constraints to see how artist tags influence generation when the model has room to breathe.

The challenge was finding the sweet spot: minimal influence while avoiding NAI 4.5's tendency toward suggestive content. After trial and error, I settled on a prompt that maintained quality while giving maximum stylistic freedom to each artist tag.

The results are fascinating - some images are genuinely beautiful, others are wonderfully strange.

Generation

I wrote a Python script utilizing the NovelAI API to generate all these images. I first locked down a generic prompt to allow the artist tag to influence the image as much as possible and then set it up to iterate through each and every one of the tags. The script is constructed in such a way that it requires my input every time it generates a new image. So there have been a whole lot of button pressing. This is due to the NovelAI ToS, 9.1.5, which I have also confirmed with the NovelAI team.

Footnotes

Weird casing on image titles!

NovelAI's V4.x model is based on T5 and therefore the prompt is case sensitive¹ However, all tags from Danbooru are kept in lowercase for consistency.

That looks weird!

Since all images use the same seed, focus on identifying artistic styles rather than judging individual outputs. A tag that produces an awkward result here might be perfect with a different seed or prompt.

Batches

In the first batch, released n 2025-06-14, there were 6762 images. Ranging from the artists with the most images on Danbooru, to artists with 225 images to their name.
