I wanted to test the abilities of what NovelAI can do in terms of reproducing different animals. In this experiment I tried out different animals, in total 321 different have been run through NovelAI’s Image Generation with the exact same prompt and the exact same settings in terms of seed, scale, steps, options and output size. Most of these animals come from a Danbooru tag dump, but a few critical ones were missing (such as moose and racoon) so they’ve been added manually.
I generated all of these in one big batch over the course of a few hours. I chose the prompt based on what would yield a picture that was exact enough to be repeatable, but still not influence the effects too much.

Model used is NAI Diffusion Anime (Full), Steps 28, Scale 11, Quality Tags On, Seed 2651783491, Undesired Content Low Quality + Bad Anatomy.
I’ve chosen to keep all of the results, no matter if they came out in the desired way or not since it is interesting to see what the image generator does with the prompts. Compared to my other prompts, the prompt here is very open ended and generic, since the experiment is more or less to see what animals are in the AI model and which are not.
A lot of the animals here look strange and weird and “Wrong”, this is not as much due to the model as it has to do with the fact that some animals just don’t work with some seeds. The idea with this list is not to show which animals look good or not, since that’s heavily seed dependent, but rather if they’re reproducible at all. I’ve kept one single seed in case anyone want to reproduce my results, but if you see an animal you want to try and it doesn’t look good with my supplied seed, just generate a couple of new ones to see how they turn out.
